After becoming certified by Eagala (Equine Growth and Learning Association) in 2002, Pegasus Equine Therapy was created from the belief in the life-changing power of the human-equine connection. Pegasus Equine Therapy is a place where clients can access growth and support through equine-assisted therapy and equine-assisted learning.
For over two decades, Pegasus Equine has operated on a private five-acre farm in Palm City, Florida, offering a peaceful and professional setting for therapy and learning programs. Our facility includes an air-conditioned client lounge and restroom, surrounded by serene views of our horse pasture and duck pond.
Today, Pegasus Equine Therapy is a provider to treatment centers, homeschool groups, and youth programs across the Treasure Coast, providing tailored equine therapy sessions with licensed clinicians and equine-assisted learning programs focused on mental health issues, behavior modification, leadership, emotional regulation, and personal development.

PROGRAMS OFFERED AT PEGASUS EQUINE
Pegasus Equine Therapy provides a range of non-riding, experiential programs designed to support emotional growth, skill development, and mental wellness through guided work with horses. Our services include equine assisted therapy for anyone who is seeking a mental health professional. Our office is in the pasture where patterns and issues emerge faster than in an office setting, helping clients discover themselves faster when they are out of their comfort zone. Our Equine Assisted Learning programs are tailored for homeschool groups, youth programs, and community organizations.
All sessions take place in a calm, structured environment where participants can strengthen communication, build confidence, practice regulation, and develop real-world relational skills—no prior horse experience required.
EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPY
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a trauma-informed, non-riding approach that integrates clinical therapy with guided interactions with horses. Led by a licensed therapist and an equine specialist, clients engage in activities such as grooming, observing, or leading horses to practice emotional regulation, communication, trust-building, and healthy behavioral patterns.
Who Can Benefit
EAP is suitable for anyone seeking therapy for mental health issues. It is often used alongside traditional therapeutic modalities to support clients navigating addiction recovery, PTSD, complex trauma, and other mental health challenges. It is especially helpful for those who find traditional talk therapy (in an office setting) challenging and want a more experiential approach.
EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is a hands-on, experiential program focused on personal development, education, and skill-building. EAL helps participants strengthen teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and emotional awareness. Through guided, non-riding interactions with horses, individuals learn in real time how their communication and behavior impact those around them.
Who Can Benefit
EAL is appropriate for individuals or groups interested in self-discovery, improving relationships, or developing skills like assertiveness and problem-solving. It is often used for homeschool groups, in youth programs, and for team-based learning.
HORSE POWERED READING® + MATH
COMING SOON!
The Horse Powered Reading® program utilizes Equine assisted learning activities to enhance reading skills and retention. Students engage with horses from the ground using toys and props used in activities and games, to learn critical reading skills such as phonetic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Math skills can be enhanced using similar methods. The program integrates social-emotional learning with academics, allowing Learners to experience reading with their mind body and emotions.
Who Can Benefit
This modality is designed for elementary school students who benefit from tutoring, youth programs, and homeschool groups.
THERAPEUTIC RIDING
Therapeutic riding is adaptive horseback riding for physical and developmental support. It helps improve coordination, confidence, and focus. While Pegasus Equine does not currently provide therapeutic riding, we recommend reaching out to our friends at Full Circle Therapeutic Riding.
Who Can Benefit
Therapeutic Riding is especially effective for children with autism and individuals with disabilities.

Horses are highly intuitive animals with an acute awareness of human body language, energy, and intention. Because they respond in real time to the behaviors and emotional states around them, they provide immediate, honest feedback that helps clients recognize their own patterns and reactions.
In equine assisted therapy and equine assisted learning, this responsiveness creates clear opportunities to practice boundaries, communication, trust-building, emotional regulation, and healthy relationship skills. Horses offer a calm, nonjudgmental presence that supports therapeutic progress.

"The horse responds to the immediacy of your intent and your behaviour, and does so without assumption or criticism. Engagement on such a level can be extraordinarily powerful for many people."
FIND YOUR WINGS
Pegasus Equine is a place where noise fades and the environment itself becomes part of the work. The horses move with intention, offering a quiet invitation to slow down and listen – not only to them, but to your own internal world. In this space, growth feels natural, and awareness comes with ease.
Through the presence of the herd, clients experience the restorative rhythm of equine assisted therapy and equine assisted learning, each session creating room for clarity, connection, and the chance to find your wings.
